CFI A-7879 V2 Mini-ITX Gehäuse (4x 3.5" NAS, 1x 2.5", Hot-Plug, 1x PCI, 250W)
Das CFI A-7879 ermöglicht den Aufbau eines NAS-Systems (z.b. mit FreeNAS) auf Basis eines Mini-ITX Mainboards. Das Gehäuse bietet 4x Hot-Plug SATA 3.5" Laufwerks-Schächte und 1x 2.5" Slot intern für das Systemlaufwerk.
Das integrierte 250W Netzteil sorgt für ausreichende Stromversorgung und der freie PCI-Slot auf der Rückseite bietet Möglichkeiten zur Erweiterung.

This case is very nice for a custom mITX NAS or server. There is a lot of space and everything can be taken apart and put back for easy access build.
PROS: 4×3.5" hot-swap, space for original Intel CPU fan (about 5 cm height), can dismantle the whole case for easy access during the build, 250W bronze PSU, space for cables, small factor considering the options
CONS: loud 12×12 cm fan with no control in the back (I replaced it with different one), missing SATA cables for the drives
Overall: Very good value/cost ratio. I am quite happy about it.

Grundsätzlich gutes Gehäuse, aber:
- für den Preis erwarte ich (zum Gehäuse passende) SATA-Kabel im Lieferumfang
- der Gehäuselüfter ist für den Preis eine Zumutung. Nicht einmal die Drehzahl lässt sich regeln. Dabei sind gute Lüfter echt nicht teuer...

Actually the improvements over the previous version are more than just USB3 and better PSU - now everything can be dismantled - the top has screws (it was riveted in prev. version), the same goes for the HDD cage. This makes the bottom 2.5 inch slot easily accessible and the assembly process is much much easier than before. I have one of the old ones and now I bought two of the new version and I can say - with these improvements this is probably the best NAS/storage server box on sale.
Excellent encolsure. Very compact, but for this type of product it is a advantage (it is more compact than dimensions reported on the site). Quality of construction is high, and packaging is excellent. The large fan in the enclosure is silent, but has no speed control (i.e. cannot be connected to the system fan connector on the mainboard), this is probably the only real miss of this excellent enclosure.
